Rex was new to college and already crazy for a girl in his study group named Alison. Then, much his schock, she asked him out for coffee, just out of the blue. Well of course he accepted. He was thrilled when he realized that he and Alison were connecting, and ready to take their relationship to the next level.

But Alison isn’t looking for a long-term thing, she says. With those words, Rex finds himself relegated to the dreaded Friend Zone.

He has high hopes, though. Maybe if he sticks with her, and accepts her offer of friendship, he can find a way into her heart.

What Rex is about to find out is that Alison likes to do things with her friends. Go to museums, Have coffee, dye their hair blond, wear blouses — that kind of thing.

His plan is going well, and he’s willing to make some feminine concessions just as long as he gets to be near Alison. What he doesn’t know is that Alison isn’t just looking for a friend. She’s got an agenda, and some scientists helping her along.

Poor Rex never really stood a chance to be Alison’s girlfriend, but he is going to be her girl, friend.
